PLANNING:
There's a first time for everything!
The Internet is the best place to search for local DJ's, because you will be able to do your research without being misguided over the phone.
Here is some helpful advice on hiring a DJ...

Most people book events between 2 and 6 months in advance.
see if your event date is available for booking yet.
The duration of your event plays a major role in the party
dynamics. For example, a party that is too long will feel slow and boring.
Conversely, a party that is too short will not fulfill the guests' expectations.
PJ recommends the following durations:
Small Events (Birthday, Family Event, Office Party) = 3 to 4 hours
Medium Events (Sweet 16, School Dance, etc...) = 4 hours
Large Events (Prom, Wedding, Formal) = 4 to 5 hours
The first, second, & third weekend of June.
The first weekend in October
New Year's Eve
Memorial Day Weekend
4th of July Weekends
Labor Day Weekend
& many others...
Scheduling an event on a highly-demanded date may ultimately lead to
fewer attendees since there is a high probability that many invitees will have
another obligation on that date. Also, prices for banquet halls, caterers
and party supplies are inflated during peak times.
If you are planning a high-priority event (Prom, Wedding, etc.), it is highly encouraged that the you meet with PJ prior to the event date due to the amount of attention required for large-scale occasions.
Written e-mail communication is sufficient for small and
medium-sized events.
(Sweet 16's, School Dances, Birthday Parties, etc.)
*Additional fees may apply if private consultation is not included into
the initial offer & contract. Any special requests that require
additional time or expense will be charged accordingly and added to the
remaining balance.
PJ will be bringing thousands of dollars worth of equipment to your party and the unpredictable threat of rain poses quite a risk. Therefore, PJ will only perform under a permanent weather-covered structure (i.e. a large pavilion) that is far from any risk of electrical shock (i.e. swimming pools). A sun canopy or tent is not sufficient protection. Unfortunately, PJ knows this from experience...

Once the tent's canvas fills with water, the entire structure collapses.
*Restrictions apply for outdoor events.
It is astounding that so many people consider price to be more important over quality when it comes to booking entertainment. The truth is, entertainment is the primary focus of an occasion and one should consider the value (what is included in the price) when hiring a DJ.
PJ the DJ has designed his business to accommodate his clients with the
valuable quality that they are looking for at an affordable rate.
There are many variables that determine the price of a
DJ:
The DJ's experience, popularity, reputation,
skill level and area of expertise
The DJ's credentials [click here]
The quality and quantity of equipment used.
Demand for the date of your event.
Amount of pre-planning required for event
Size and scale of the event
(1,000 person Prom vs. 30 person
Birthday Party)
Location and Travel-time Required...
Most importantly, PJ offers a level of service that is attributable to being an industry professional for over a decade. In the DJ industry, experience is "priceless."

PJ the DJ believes that every client deserves quality

He does not offer "basic" or "add-on" packages.

There are DJ's out there who "specialize" in "all occasions," but PJ understands the meaning of specialization and focuses his attention to be "the best" at what he does.
PJ the DJ Entertainment is a "mobile DJ service." This
means, he will travel* to your event venue of choice with his own equipment.
PJ covers most of Central and South Jersey.
*Reasonable rates
and restrictions may apply for travel.

All clients MUST have an active e-mail address in order to send and receive
information regarding their event.
No, PJ the DJ Entertainment is one of the first (and only) services that offers a completely electronic booking system. In lieu of paper contracts, PJ has created an eBOOKING process that allows the client to sign an electronic contract (online) prior to paying the required deposit. This system is much easier and faster than mail.
A deposit is required to officially secure PJ the DJ for the
date of your event.
Once a client signs the online contract, he or she will be prompted to
pay the required deposit by means of credit card, PayPal or by personal check.
You will be provided with more specific payment information upon booking.
The payment of your balance is due prior to the contracted start-time of your event.
In other words, you may pay the balance while the DJ is setting up for your event by either cash or check (payable to "PJ REBOVICH").
Checks are to made payable to "PJ REBOVICH."
Checks made out to any other name will not be considered valid payment.
No, although it is a common practice for DJ companies to automatically charge a gratuity fee, PJ feels that the decision to tip a performer should be left to the client. In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with your entertainment, you should not feel obligated to tip the DJ. However, if you feel that the DJ exceeded your expectations, you are certainly encouraged to show your appreciation.
Referring PJ's website to others is the most valuable
form of gratitude!!!!!

What is a "Mobile Night Club DJ?"
PJ is not your average DJ... Unlike most, he DOES NOT specialize in
Hokey Pokey Weddings. Instead, he has structured his business to appeal to
teens and young adults.
PJ is considered to be a "mobile night club DJ" which means he plays a
continuous mix of high-energy dance music that is remixed and spontaneously
customized to the crowd for which he is playing. He uses a technique known
as "beat matching" which allows him to transition from song to song while
keeping the beat for you and your guests to keep dancing. PJ will play rhythmic
music that is meant for dancing in lieu of music that is meant for listening.
Yes, PJ the DJ gives his clients the opportunity to
request music online* prior to the event
and he can also accept guest requests (if
warranted by the host).
*Reasonable
limitations apply
PJ is an entertainment expert...
Requests (generally speaking) hinder a DJ's ability to customize the song
selection to keep your guests on the dance floor. Unlike most DJ's, PJ
usually discourages his clients from limiting his creativity by sending him
a long list of songs.
If you want the best entertainment possible, let PJ run the show on his
own!!
If there are a handful songs that are special to you, let him know in
advance by requesting them on your VIP Music Request List.
Ultimately, he has your best interest in mind and he has the experience to
make your party unlike any you have ever been to (for that reason).
His music collection is up to date with all of the latest hits, since he
specializes in teen entertainment.
PJ has been an expert in teen entertainment for a long time and has developed a deep understanding of teen party dynamics. Games and activities must only be conducted if warranted by the guests (not the host). Many teens and pre-teens consider games to be "corny" and "cheesy," so PJ generally tends to avoid such events to keep the guests' interests in mind.
Yes, PJ the DJ Entertainment is fully insured with a $1,000,000.00 Liability Insurance Policy and can provide proof of insurance upon request. Many venues and banquet halls require this type of insurance and it is highly encouraged to ask a DJ this question before booking.
(WARNING: Most other DJ's in this area are not insured)
PJ the DJ has a set of back-up equipment available to him in the unlikely event that there is a technical difficulty.
Set-up time is determined by the following factors:
Amount of equipment needed for your event
Parking distance, stairs, elevators, stages, & obstacles
Accordingly, PJ will need at least one hour for set-up. Larger events (Prom, Wedding, etc.) will require more time. You will be provided with specific times upon confirmation of your event. It is also very important that you inform the DJ about any conditions that may lengthen this process (parking, stairs, elevators, loading dock procedures, long or narrow hallways, stages, or any other unusual circumstance.)
PJ the DJ only uses top quality, professional grade audio,
video, and lighting equipment.
A light show is included in every indoor event package. When comparing
PJ the DJ Entertainment with other companies, please consider the quality
and quantity of equipment that is included in the price. Most other
companies charge extra per lighting fixture.
Yes, if PJ is available, he can extend the duration of your event. Additional time must be requested within two hours of the original end-time in order for PJ to adapt the show accordingly.
The additional time will be charged at a premium rate, so it is suggested that you determine the length of your event before booking to save money.
